About Us

Amy Mason, founder of Aim2Educate, has been a public school teacher and administrator for 22 years. Amy's career path allowed her to serve as an educator across five states - Arizona, Alabama, Indiana, Maryland, and Virginia. She has been a school based administrator for 13 years. She was named the 2017 Principal of the Year within Madison County Schools and the 2021 National Distinguished Principal for the state of Alabama.

During her years in school leadership, Amy saw the importance of developing schools that are trauma responsive to the meet the growing needs of today's students. She has been at the forefront of creating a school-wide and community approach to meeting these needs, as well as identifying and tailoring plans to meet the needs of individual students. Amy's experience in handling trauma response became extremely personal when she suddenly lost her husband of 17 1/2 years to a pulmonary embolism in December 2020. She is a widow and mother who "Aims 2 Educate" not only the students that are impacted by her work but also her own two precious children, Amanda and Mac, that she has been equipped by God to raise as a single parent.

Amy earned a BA in Elementary Education in 1999 from Purdue University and a MS in School Administration and Supervision in 2005 from Johns Hopkins University.
